Sears Kenmore Dryer

hello everyone
i have an ohm meter; what do i set it on to check continuity on the the heating element (coil) of this dryer.. and the thermostats? my ohms scale on my meter reads: 200, 2000, 20k, 200k, 2,000 k : which setting do i use to test continuity??? help

Hi,

If you see an Rx1 scale (usually the lowest) ...this is the best to use.

hi jeff; hope u get this ; i do not have an rx1 scale; do you know what seeting on the meter i can use??

Any scale will work for checking continuity, the lowest is usually best. In your case, it looks like 200 is the lowest.

hi dan; the dryer heating element was bad; i used an ohm meter as you said; it read open..took element out; had a broken coil; for about $26.00 i got the dryer fixed: your help and the diagrams on here on how to remove a clothes dryer heating element are invaluble: thanks! take care; dan!
